Hi, I’m Trish. Welcome to Thrive.
Getting here to this page can be a big step.
Could be that somebody said, hey, this is what's needed, this is what's recommended.
Could be something inside of you that said, hey, we’re doing our best and we kind of need a little help or a lot. Or you could be looking for help for a loved one because you just can’t watch them struggle anymore.
And I'll be honest, I've been in that chair. The one on the other side of the computer trying to figure out what on earth I needed to get through it.
Getting this far took a lot of courage, even if it doesn’t feel like a real big win!
So whether this is for yourself or for a family member, I’m applying to join you on this journey and this is what I can offer. The most important thing I offer is a safe, non-judgemental connection. I believe that everybody is part of a bigger picture, and that our relationships with ourselves and with others are incredibly powerful tools. I also believe that the human body is freaking amazing, and that sometimes a creative approach is needed to get through the protections it throws up.
We may sit and talk, break out the art or sand tray or even the slime to compassionately work around the barriers we may run into. There isn’t a single path of healing that is one size that fits all, so a big part of our journey will be finding what works for you and building on it. When working with youth and children, I do advocate for inviting in parents or significant people to work alongside us. While I can help build tools, it is the family that will keep the change going.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (CCC and RCC) with a Masters in Counselling Psychology from TWU. I am also certified in Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Neuroscience and Satir in the Sand Tray, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Adolescents (DBT), and Observed and Experiential Integration therapy. I can offer art and creative therapies, trauma work, and a lot of geeking out about the brain. Through my previous work, I have also had the incredible privilege of working with youth who identify as LGBTQ2+ as well as those who are still facing a lot of questions.
In my free time, I enjoy outdoor adventures with my pup, Ryder (future therapy dog), connecting with friends and family, and making creative messes that mostly turn into art and practical things I am proud of.
Please note that Patricia is only accepting clients who can attend daytime appointments at this time, thank you.
