Brynn Gillies she/her MA, RSW, RCC

Hello!

My name is Brynn and I am so glad you’re here. It’s no secret that life can at times be challenging, intense, and overwhelming. You may find yourself struggling to navigate the hardships you’re facing, and you may be noticing that this is impacting your ability to live the life you want for yourself.  You are not alone!

I hope you can feel proud of yourself in this moment—you have taken a big and oftentimes challenging step in acknowledging a need for support and seeking it out. Your willingness to be vulnerable is inspiring, and I would be honoured to hear your story and walk alongside you in your journey.

A bit about me: I am a naturally empathetic person who is passionate about supporting others to live their best lives, however that looks for them. I love to be outdoors, and in my personal time I can be found hiking, paddle boarding, and rock climbing.

As a helping professional, my aim is to create an environment in which you feel safe, heard, validated, and supported. I believe we are all experts in our own lives, and we each possess the capability within ourselves to create the positive change we may need. At times, what can be most helpful in doing so is the support of an objective observer—someone who can provide non-judgmental insight and help us sort through our experiences, thoughts, feelings, needs, and desires. Therefore, my goal is to provide this judgement-free space and support as you identify your needs and goals, and to work collaboratively with you as you pursue them.

I have been actively working in the helping profession for the past 8 years. I have a Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. In addition to being a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Registered Social Worker, I am also a Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapist. I have worked with children, youth, adults, and families in a variety of settings, and I have a strong knowledge of our community and the resources within it. My practice is client-centered, holistic, and strengths-based.
